What This Page Covers: scope and limits

This page sets out general, practical advice about gambling in a safer way, together with what this particular build of the site can and cannot do about it. It is not a substitute for the tools that live inside an operator account, and it is not a place where any check, limit or exclusion can be switched on. Nothing published here changes what happens after a reader leaves this site.

Controls That Live Elsewhere: account tools

Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are all things a reader sets up inside an account at an operator's own site, once registered there. This build has no account system, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can offer, switch on, check or enforce any of those controls. A reader who wants one of them has to arrange it directly at the destination, after following an operator link and creating or logging into an account there.

In the same way, nobody's age is checked on this site, and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination, not here. This site also carries no advertising network and no behavioural profiling, so nothing on these pages is aimed at a reader based on prior gambling activity; the small amount of visit data this site collects is used only to count page views and outbound clicks, never to target anyone.

Independent Sources of Help: three organisations

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au, and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them.

Practical Advice: before and during play

  • Decide the amount before starting. Working it out in advance, away from the moment of play, makes it a plain decision rather than one made under pressure.
  • Treat that amount as already spent. Thinking of it as gone from the outset removes the temptation to measure the session by how much is "left to lose."
  • Never chase a loss. Trying to win back money already lost tends to push stakes higher exactly when judgment is weakest.
  • Keep gambling out of borrowed money. Money that is owed elsewhere turns a loss into a debt problem on top of a gambling one.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away, even briefly, gives a chance to notice how long a session has actually run and how it is going.
  • Involve someone else early. Speaking to another person while it is still manageable is easier than doing so once it has become a bigger problem, and another perspective can spot what is hard to see from inside the habit.

Operator Listings and Age Restriction: what repeats throughout

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings also ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice.

Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site. Each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that point on, the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply — not anything published on this page.
